Cruising in Alaska

These images show one of the Princess Cruise ships on an Inland Passage trip to Alaska. What a wonderful way to spend a week! We encountered severe winds on the way up with a massive low pressure front that we passed through. Many passengers had a rough morning and left the breakfast buffet almost empty, but I could not eat it all, which is no small feat since during that period of time, my food consumption was enormous, bordering on the ridiculous. But you live and learn. So far this year, have lost 60 pounds and feel whole lot better!

My daughter had been on this trip back in the 90’s and enjoyed it immensely. The 49th state was actually the last of the 50 that I have visited. My biggest problem with cruises is that you don’t get long enough in each port of call. My ideal would be to spend a week or so, with no itinerary and be able to meet some of the local people and get to know them. Travel is more fun if you can share the experience with others.
